What would our world be like if every day was Christmas?
As you can imagine, we would all experience more
- Peace and Harmony
- Courtesy and Kindness
- Smiles and Laughter
- Joy… and (something that everyone craves)
- Love – real love
Sadly, this aspect of our personal version of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or Winter Solstice, etc. only impacts us once a year and not daily.
But is this Spirit of Sharing and Caring really that limited?
If you and I can find it within ourselves to demonstrate peace, joy, and love for a short period annually, could we not find it within ourselves to allow these great expressions to escape outward more often?
Yes, we can, but ONLY if you and I want to feel this way!
So… why do these wonderful feelings for one another not show up the rest of the year?
The typical person (yes, this includes you) defines their life as difficult. Most perceive our daily existence as stressful or overwhelming and filled with frustrations, disappointment, and even sorrow. This is what we call our ‘reality.’
Yet… true reality is that your life is what you make it!
If your daily existence is hard and a constant struggle to pay bills, or to find meaningful work, or deal with jerks, then that will be what YOU ATTRACT into your life, your reality. However, if you define your daily existence as joyful, happy, meaningful, pleasurable, easy, or even fun-filled then this is what your life – your reality will be.
Do you see the opportunity you have here?
In case you do not, allow me to clarify.
You are a magnet; You attract what you put out.
If your daily focus is on sadness, drama, pain, sorrow, misery, or struggle this is how your life will show up. But if you see that you are living a wonderful life filled with love, peace, harmony, cooperation, friendship, and abundance this is how your life will show up.
May I suggest that you start each day with a personal promise, pledge, or intention to yourself to be more loving, generous, peaceful, fun, cooperative, and carefree. I guarantee that your day will be more wonderful. When you focus on the positives that already exist in your life—the love, accomplishments, friendships, connections, and feeling of calm—your day will be very enjoyable. And as you enjoy life more, those around you enjoy theirs more. Each day might just feel like the Christmas Spirit we all look forward to.
Maybe the real meaning of Christmas is like the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the sizzle of bacon cooking, or the scent of a sensual perfume. Each of these announce to us that something good is about to be experienced. This year-end spirit of love and appreciation is an experience we eagerly look forward to.
Is it possible that this joyous season is a reminder of the possibility that you and I can feel like this 365¼ days a year?
It is worth the effort! Therefore, if you like what the holiday season represents–a time for the Spirit of Caring and Sharing, then please believe that YOU CAN create this spirit within yourself each day. Make this pleasurable and connected feeling your daily reality.
Can we have the Spirit of Christmas show up every day?
Yes, we can! But only when you and I show up with what we want for ourselves and others. Be the change you want to see in the world.
