What is real leadership about?
A better question is: “What makes for a good leader, one whom you would be proud to follow?”
To find the answer, I immersed myself in the study of leadership for over 40 years. I discovered that most managers and supervisors lack leadership training. They were thrown in the deep end of the pool and forced to “swim with the sharks.” Many have been pushed through the Leadership Door™ rather than be invited. Most bad bosses have a good heart and do care, but this internal intention does not come through in their actions and behaviors. A supermajority of weak leaders is technically competent in their chosen field but have very little training or understanding about the skills related to human relations or the essential skills.
To solve this problem, the High Road Institute was conceived. We are a company dedicated to ensuring that every organization has quality leaders, at all levels. We turn the reluctant and reticent into capable and honorable leaders worth following. We develop High Road® Leaders who have beneficial impact and powerful influence in everything they touch.
We envision the day when most realize that the honor-driven approach to being a leader is taking the High Road®, which symbolizes the ideal path to take in the long run. My extensive wisdom and practical solutions, contained in 19 books and numerous programs, is derived from training and coaching over 14,0000 business leaders throughout the United States and Canada.
